Handfasting

Honor your love with a unique handfasting ceremony, a beloved Celtic tradition representing the joining of two souls. Standing together, your hands are tied with colorful cords or ribbons as you exchange meaningful vows. This heartfelt ritual can be simple or elaborate to reflect your personal vision, whether it’s for your wedding, an engagement, or a vow renewal. Select ribbon colors that reflect your love story and let the strength of your commitment radiate during this special occasion. I will work closely with you to craft a memorable and authentic experience.

My service includes:

  • Guidance and consultation to tailor the ceremony to your preferences

  • Officiating the handfasting ritual with professionalism and reverence

  • Incorporating personalized elements

  • Providing cords or ribbons for the binding ceremony

  • Creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere for you and your guests

Naming Ceremony

A naming ceremony is not only a formal introduction to family and friends but also a pledge to nurture and protect your new addition from newborn to an adoption at any age.

  • We will open the ceremony with a warm and enthusiastic welcome to the child

  • Introduce your new addition to friends and family with immense pleasure and pride

  • Make a wholehearted pledge to provide your child with the utmost love, guidance, and protection

  • Commit to nurturing your child to become a compassionate, virtuous, and successful individual

  • Acknowledge the unwavering support and encouragement of your loved ones to fulfill this promise.

I look forward to discussing this very special experience and make it a truly special day for all involved.

Celebration of Life

When someone we love passes away, it can be difficult to come to terms with the fact that they are no longer us.

The traditional funeral service, with its somber tone and focus on loss, may not feel like the right way to celebrate the life of someone who brought so much joy and happiness into lives. Instead, a "Celebration of Life" offers a more positive and uplifting way to remember and honor the unique qualities and memories of the person we have lost.

While these gatherings may vary in tone and style depending on cultural or religious traditions, they all share a common goal of celebrating the life of someone who meant so much to us.

Let's discuss some options that feel right for you.

Life for all of us is unique and special. That's why I offer services tailored to your individual needs and beliefs. My primary goal is to provide you with a ceremony that celebrates your love and commitment to each other and your loved ones. I specialize in ceremonies of all faiths and orientations. Let me help you create a beautiful and meaningful celebration that is appropriate for you.

California Requirements for Marriage

  • In California, the couple is responsible for picking up the marriage license in person at the office of the County Clerk. They will need to bring and present photo identification, and in some places, they will also want to see a copy of a birth certificate. If the applicant does not have suitable photo identification, credible witness affidavit or affidavits may be used in some cases.

  • The clerk may ask to see an official divorce decree for marriages that ended by dissolution or nullity. They will not require a blood test.

  • It is important to make sure that the license is for a “religious” ceremony and not for a “civil” ceremony. Even if the wedding is not going to contain specific religious elements.

  • Civil ceremony licenses are used for weddings solemnized by a judge, a justice of the peace, or a similar figure.

  • The license is valid for 90 days after it has been issued. The wedding must take place sometime within this window, and it must be submitted back to the clerk for filing within 10 days of the wedding ceremony.

  • Once the marriage license has been picked up, it can be used for a wedding that takes place anywhere in California regardless of where it was issued. The license fee varies by county. There is no residency requirement in California for persons who want to be wed. This means either, or both, members of the couple can be from out-of-state or country and still obtain a license to be married in California.

  • Same-sex couples are legally able to get married in the state of California.
